In the scene at the party in Nevada when Mike is talkong to the senator about the casinos Mike says "Turnbull is a good man.....", i get the feeling someone can explain to me who Turnbull is.

He's a long time moderator on these boards, an expert in many fields, and yes, he IS a good man.

Well, now we have the best of both Turnbulls.

By the way, why do you think that in that "I intend to squeeze you scene" Michael says to Geary (to paraphrase) He's the one who arranged this whole thing and Turnbull's a good man?
Those statements seem like chit chat which is something I would never ascribe to Michael engaging in. They seem so out of place.

Oli, I don't think it was chitchat. As I envisioned it in my long-ago post, "Turnbull's a good man" was intended to signal Geary that he'd played by Geary's rules: Bribing Geary for the license by paying a "legal retainer" to Turnbull, Geary's bag-man.

I thought the comment referred to Geary's knowledge from Turnbull that Michael was making a move to get another casino.

But when Michael tells Geary that Tom set this whole thing up, Geary says "yes", like big deal. Why would Mike say that?

Probably to introduce Tom "Mr. Legitimate," to justify his presence at the meeting, and to verify that Michael had done things "correctly" by working through Turnbull:
This is my lawyer, TOM HAGEN; SENATOR GEARY. He's the one who arranged this whole thing through your man Turnbull.

Turnbull worked in the offices of Senator Patrick Geary of Nevada, though he was known as an associate and possible informant for the Corleone family.
During negotiations to gain a hotel in Nevada, owned by Meyer Klingman, Turnbull was approached by Tom Hagen, who arranged a meeting with Senator Geary concerning the gaming licence.
