The Making Of The GF-Behind The Scenes 20yr's Later! - 10/09/05 07:37 PM

Has anyone seen this? If not it is a must see for all us GF fans! smile

Some years back i taped this show from the Bravo staion.

Coppola, Puzo & many of their collaborators assembled together to make GF-3.

They show the actual screen tests with Brando (my love) Smooch! [Linked Image] lol.
J.Caan as - Michael.?
De Niro as - Sonny. ?
And take after take with Al & Diane at the wedding,Al just couldn't get it right and i must say he was bad frown
No-one wanted him as Michael but Coppola!
Coppola knew in time, Al would catch on. G could you imagine anyone else being Michael? Glare [Linked Image] Not me!

Coppla is definitely is a genius! Clapping [Linked Image]

In Al's own words ---Coppola was more in me -then there was me,in those scenes.
They also explained, how the small little details before a violent scene happens--example--The light bulb going out & the towel catching fire around the gun -makes us remember the scene.(GF-1 De Niro killing Fanucci)

One of the details i always noticed in the film were the babies, Some Italian babies well, in my family are always crying just like in the film (maybe colic?) confused
Loud talking, arguing & laughing around the kitchen table to name a few... grin
Always felt they were my family up there on the big screen guess we all did right? So many similarities!

I would love to get another copy of this with even more behind the scenes in it.
Anyone know of any? Help [Linked Image]

Well I could not think of anyone in the part of Michael part exept AL PACINO... as GF's fan as well as Al's fan... lol
History could look differnt (for Pacino as well as for the GF movies) if FFC would have let the studio's men have their way....

My parents always told me that as a baby I was colicky and cried CONSTANTLY (of course, I am half-Italian).

Several times they were just about ready to trow me out the window.

Maybe they finally did and just never told me. That might explain certain behavior over the years.

I own the Godfather box set. And within the set is a Bonus Material dvd which also goes through the scenes showing Pacino in his takes to get the role. Also speaks of Robert Redford as a possible choice for Godfather... I think taht's who it was. I havent watched the making in a very long time. It also includes SOOOOO many deleted scenes you HAVE to see.

but why that sad emoticon? Gestures may be more telling than a whole speech. Say, what would you do if you are Italian and, while driving, someone steals a parking place from you? Definitely, not a conference to underline the importance of a correct driving!!! wink

Have a look here. You'll enjoy it! grin
