A load of issues

Hi guys

I've been away some three years. I know you've all missed me, especially Apple. I haven't watched the films in three years you see so I just floated away from here. Bad move.

I just need to know a couple of things

1) Was I imagining it, or has the deleted scene 'I see you've found you Luca Brasi'...'I'll need him' not been included in any DVD release?
2) That the scene with the young Anthony approaching the button-men not been included?
3) That a scene with Bonasera worried about the Don's arrival exists? I knew nothing about it
4) Has the original Fabrizio scene with Mike killing him with his own gun seen the light of day yet?
5) And lastly, has anyone made a cut of parts 1 and 2 to resemble the theatrical releases, but with the extra footage cut in ala the Trilogy VHS set??

No. That was a line that appeared only in the novel.

That's one of the deleted scenes from II that appears in the "extras" disc in the DVD set.

There is a "Godfather Saga" version that combines the three movies in chronological order, with all of the deleted scenes included in the right sequence. But it's shown only on US cable TV. As far as I know, it doesn't exist in DVD or VHS formats.

Tunrbull - My DVD set does NOT contain the Anthony scene or the Bonasera scene? Where the hell are they??

I just dont want it in chrono, I want II as its meant to be...but with the extra footage. It is the best excised footage I've ever seen, along with superman 1

THF: There are so many versions of the individual films and the Trilogy around the world that it's impossible to know what is or isn't on each version. Frustrating! But, as far as I know, there's no chronological, all-deleted-scenes-included, version of GF and II in the US on DVD or VHS. The VHS boxed set, "Godfather Saga 1900-1959," is in chronological order and contains about 25 minutes of deleted scenes in the proper order. But the version shown on US cable has all 45 minutes or so of the deleted scenes in the right sequence. Some people on this board may have recorded that version from cable TV onto their own DVD recorders. But I think your DVD player in the UK uses a different standard.

I really don't know--there are so many versions around. But I inferred from comments you made in another thread about Gardner Shaw and Frankie with Anthony that you have either the US VHS "Saga" three-tape set, or the US DVD release with the "extras" disc.

I have the 'Trilogy set' which came out over here back in 97. It has the lions share of deleted footage. Including the Anthony approaches the button men scene. And some other singers, and the Hagen's posing for a photo etc.

But it doesn't have the Bonasera scene, the 'what about sonny, what about Sicily' scene, or the Kay lighting candles scene.

The latter two of those have been restored for the DVD...but nowhere is that Bonasera scene. Is that scene on your DVD Turnbull?

All the scenes you mentioned are on the US cable version of the Saga, and on the extras disc of the US DVD set. But there is no DVD version of the Saga or Trilogy that has the films in chronological sequence, and all the deleted scenes integrated in the right order.

Right...so could you possibly give me a list of the scenes on the deleted scenes section of your DVD? I need to get to the bottom of this.
