I was in Vegas a few weeks ago nd had ginger ale at the Bellagio what they made themselves using fresh ginger. It was AWESOME. Sinc then I've downloaded a few recipes for it and will be trying it at home. The sharp ginger taste makes Canada Dry, etc. seem bland and tme.

Where I grew up it was kind of common to know people, who made their own ginger ale and birch beer. Some of the local pubs had them on tap and I remember often seeing people walking home carrying the soda in their glass milk bottles and sometimes buckets.

I haven't had homemade ginger ale in about 30 years. That stuff would make the eyes roll back in your head as it bubbled its way down your throat. If you find a recipe, dt, please post it. Maybe that could be a summer project for me.

Yes, please do post a recipe - I've never had it!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

My dad made root beer for us. Loved it.
