The "Bellboy" scene grin :
Do you think Sosa would still go after Tony if he knew that he didnt do it to save the kids in the car?

If he only told him that the kids were in the car,I'm sure Sosa would 'let it go'...he was expecting a kid himself.

What do you think?

Nope! I wouldn't have mattered! Sosa and co. needed this guy dead, bottom line. Tony blew it. Business is Business.

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Yes, he would have still killed Tony.

Sosa was a major drug lord, do you think that he would lose his world reputation to be put under by two kids and a wife?

I don't think Sosa would have cared either way, he wanted him DEAD.

Then why did Sosa even bother to call him all day just to find out 'what happened' if it didnt matter to him...
(and we know hes been trying 100 times to talk to Tony before he decided to send the killers after him) I dont know ,Sosa seemed like a 'reasonable guy',sure he was a drug lord, but he was fair.
but Tony was stupid not to tell him what happened.

As for Sosa's partners - their problem is with Sosa, not Tony. They dont care what Tony did or not-they made a business with Sosa, not Tony...so I dont think Sosa went after Tony to "save his neck"..he did it because Tony "fucked" him,and he was sure of that when Tony had no REAL reason ("your guy Alberto was a piece of shit" sure sound stupid to say)

If Tony would have given Sosa a "reasonable" explaination, then there would not have been the ending to the movie that was written! wink

If Tony were to be reasonable in his answer, instead of being arrogant, then he would not have been the Tony Montana that was prtrayed throughout the whole movie! wink

Tony was arrogant. Tony made the decision not to have the guy and his family blown up. Tony screwed Sosa and his partners! Sosa was a man of high regard in his business and put his own ass on the line with his asociates when he hired Tony to oversee the hit. Therefore Sosa had to keep up his appearance as a reputable business man and a man who would not tolerate one iota of mistake, betrayal or bad judgement when it came to his business. Tony sealed his fate with Sosa when he decided NOT to have the guy killed. Sosa had no choice but to take Tony out in order to keep his respectability with his other associates. The only way that Sosa gives Tony a pass is if Tony tells him that Sosa's guy could NOT get the device planted on under the car.
