If you really think about it Ernie and Chi Chi were not using thier heads or smarts when it came to protecting Tony.
Once Chi CHi & Ernie knew that Tony cursed out Sosa and invited Sosa to go to war, they had to realize that a hit squad would be coming after them so they should have play it safe and immedeatly got Tony out of the mansion.

Yes, this is true. However, do you think Tony would have listened to them? Plus, they just saw that Tony killed Manny, I don't think I'd try to get too much of Tony's attention at that point by telling him what to do.

Yes, your probably right about that. I guess in that case you could say that they did stay loyal to him until the death. Knowing how coked up he was and how stubborn he could be, they could have easily took off to save thier own lives. Do you think that any of them knew how quickly Sosa's hit squad would attack the mansion? Obviously the hit squad was ready and in place awaiting the order to go as they swarmed that mansion in no time.

i was confused by this.i mean,shouldnt tony have more men on the job especially a night like this.if tony was a triplet, they would have taken out Sosas army no sweat.

It is very unusual that everything happened on the same day, I don't think that chi chi or even Tony was expecting Sosa to send army to kill him within few hours.
