Joe Pistone told a funny story in the Donnie Brasco book.
During the San Gennaro feast,him,Lefty Ruggiero,and Bonanno Captain Mike Sabella
were sitting in a club in Little Italy across from Sabella's restaurant (CaSaBella),which Mike usually closed during the Feast because he hated tourists.
Roselli had his car parked on the street,and was selling his records out of the trunk.
Sabella walked over and said"close your f**kin trunk because you're fu**in embarrassing me by trying to sell your f***in records out here on the f***in street.
According to Pistone,Roselli closed the trunk immediately and Lefty said "he'll act different from now on" Yes, I heard that. Thats not the first time Roselli was reduced to "hawking" his own records....THATS how bad he was hurting financially at one point in time. Jimmy could be a nice guy (when he was in the mood,) but that was the problem too....his problem. He could also be a very moody and arrogant guy. And "the boys" finally got tired of his bullshit. (He's lucky he never got a beating, because on more than one occasion, he more than deserved one...in their view.)
