I want to add to my many Godfather collectibles the hardcover first edition of the novel. When shopping around I'm being introduced to expressions such as "book club edition" or "1st edition - eighth impression". What does all this mean? I want to be a wise shopper.
Thanks

Buon divertimento

I have the original, bought it in 1991. It's been a good friend to me and i've had good times with it. I dont know about any of the new editions, but I am aware of variations regarding the GF film. For example, there's the letterbox type cover (which has a beige/bronze outline around Vito's picture) then there's the 25th anniversary edition, and now there's the DVD, which apparently has more scenes and what have you. I personally recommend you get the original of each book/film, but this is up to you. Usually rereleases are gimmicks for impulse buyers.
