well i heard that he actually wanted to make the movie...with flashbacks of how sonny became the hothead he was. so maybe it will be done one day in honour of mario.

i think there should be a fourth one anyway...i still dont think the story is finished....francis shouldnt have put the scene where michael dies at the end because it was useless...there is still a giant hole in the story...michael was gonna die anyway like all humans do..so what was the point of ending the saga with that? i mean...i wanna know what peoples responses will be to the death of mary...i wanna know what the future was like between michael and kay...and how vincent coped with being the new don...and what exactly he did with the power...and what connie did!

It would be nice to know all that, however the trilogy is about Michael, and look at how he dies. He dies alone. One can almost guess at the reactions many had over the events that transpired at the end of Part 3. It was completely appropriate to end that way, as Michael was out of power by the end of the third film, and the trilogy is about him.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

I always wanted the years between the end of the de niro sequence and the start of the first movie cleared up, Sonny in the family business and the viciousness of Luca, and perhaps some early Fredo being oushed about by Sonny

Sonny - Well then, business will have to suffer, all right? And listen, do me a favor, Tom. No more advice on how to patch things up, just help me win, please

I DO NOT want to see a GF4 set in modern times. Vinnie to me is not a Corleone, and he shouldnt be included in the 4th movie. I want to see the 4th one about the young Corleone family and its rise to power. I want to see the 1st gen. characters be develpoed more.I want a GF4 to show between Vito's scenes in Part 2 and before Part 1.

Some people say that they killed him off like that so that it would show that he died alone. Another is that is FFC's way of saying "I don't want to do this anymore!". It also added a lot more dramatic effect. At the time it was an appropriate ending IMO. However-Mario Puzo's idea of a 4th gf got me excited. As many people would agree with me, I don't want a gf centered around vinnie. I would have loved to have the movie centered on Michael trying to deal even more with the guilt with maybe a big plot twist only FFC and Mario Puzo could come up with-and of course the flashbacks on Sonny.

However, Puzo is dead and GF just should not be made without Puzo-otherwise I would have loved to see GF4.

Oh and by the way, Puzo, before he died, planned on the present day part of the film be how Vinnie spins the family to the ground with wars and a lot of drugs-not my cup of tea but hey its Puzo and I'm sure I would have liked it.

Michael didn't die in peace though... he died full of regret for killing Fredo and leading to the death of his daughter.

Being killed like one of his enemies would have been better, IMO, quick and painless, without the years of guilt and doubting decisions you made throughout your life.

I love the way they ended the trilogy.

And Don Vito died of natural causes too.

The most powerful scene of the entire trilogy is, in my opinion, when Michael Corleone screams at the end of GF III with the flashbacks and such, and then the climax with his death...

I totally agree. It was the culmination of every emotion that Michael had experienced throughout the trilogy and like his life was flashing before his eyes in that scene.

If GF3 was made for one reason, it was for that scene.

And the flashbacks!!! That's what made me so emotional after finishing the trilogy.
